Finance Manager

We are looking to hire a Finance Manager to oversee our operational, accounting, and finance functions while helping to support our mission critical Human Resource management. Ideal candidates will reside in Greater Vancouver or Kelowna (BC), and will primarily work remotely (from a home office). Reporting to the CEO, this position will command a balanced business, people and financial aptitude along with demonstrated knowledge in running all complex daily administrative activities into a smooth execution.

QUALIFICATIONS / PERSONAL CHARACTERISITICS

  • 5+ years of combined work experience managing full cycle accounting, payroll and business operations (e.g. invoicing, AR/AP, contracts)
  • Able to establish and maintain effective and trusted relationships across the entire working team including senior leadership and external partners.
  • Comfortable with operations management and working closely with the CEO to support culture, operational processes and team development strategies.
  • Demonstrates superior analytical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and the development and improvement of accounting systems would be helpful.
  • Previous experience working with growth stage tech companies (including SRED, IRAP or other reporting).
  • A balance of confidence, initiative and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of all accounting operational functions, including banking, auditing, reconciliation, credit card payments, A/P and A/R
  • Oversee financial reporting, budgets, cash flow, payroll, tax and financial statements
  • Accountable for consistent, timely execution of the payroll cycle for all permanent staff, contractors and consultants located around the world
  • Manage and prioritize additional day to day administrative operations (including coordination, project delivery and other needs as required by the CEO)
  • Produce and maintain fundamental operational practices, processes and documents for the company
  • Communicate, explain and reinforce company goals, objectives, plans and strategies
  • Establish and maintain effective, trusted relationships across the entire working team and senior leadership along with internal and external partners
